jul/20/2020

Every July 28, another year of the Independence of Peru is celebrated.

Each city celebrates it in its own way, but in the city of Cusco it is characterized by being full of tradition, pride, color and joy, thanks to the great patriotic spirit of the people of Cusco.

How are the National Holidays celebrated in the city of Cusco?

The festivities begin with an exquisite gastronomic festival with all our representative dishes such as baked pig, guinea pig pepián, olluquito of charqui, chicharron, among others.

During the celebration they carry out colorful parades and musical performances, as well as tradition they carry out military civic parades of schools and institutions.

The raising of our national flag, the national emblem that is part of our symbolism, is essential, along with the flag of Cusco in the Plaza de Armas.

This year all national holidays have been canceled to avoid crowding due to the pandemic, let's celebrate at home with our typical dishes and Peruvian music.

Let's keep taking care of ourselves and those around us so we can celebrate big in 2021!
